CustomGPT.ai builds chatbots that answer from your own content. You point it at a website, a stack of PDFs, or a help center, and it hands back a bot that replies with citations.
I haven’t built a bot on a paid plan. This CustomGPT.ai review comes from the vendor’s pricing and help pages, user reviews on Capterra and GetApp, and a handful of 2026 comparison write-ups. Where they disagree, I say so.
Quick verdict
CustomGPT.ai is a no-code builder for custom GPT AI chatbots that answer from your own documents. Plans start at $99 a month, and the only free way in is a 7-day trial that needs a card.
It fits support teams, agencies, and publishers with a lot of real content to feed it. I’d skip it if you want a permanent free plan or the cheapest FAQ bot you can find.

What is CustomGPT.ai?
CustomGPT.ai is a no-code platform for building AI agents on your business content. You upload files or connect a site, and the platform turns that material into a chatbot you can embed, share by link, or call through an API.
The company is small and private. Directory listings put it anywhere from 11 to 50 employees, which matters if you expect hands-on support.

CustomGPT.ai Review: What the Custom GPT AI Chatbot can do
Here’s what the product pages and 2026 guides say it does:
- It reads websites, sitemaps, uploaded files, and help desk content. One guide counts 1,400+ file formats, plus video and podcast sources.
- Every answer can carry a citation that points back to the source document.
- It supports 92 languages, according to the vendor.
- You can drop the bot on a site with an embed or a live chat widget, share it by link, or call it through an API. The vendor lists Zapier, Slack, WordPress, Shopify, Wix, and Twilio connections.
Developers also get an SDK and an MCP server. The vendor says it’s SOC 2 and GDPR compliant and that your data never trains a model. I’d ask for the paperwork before relying on either claim.
Does the CustomGPT.ai chatbot stop hallucinating?
CustomGPT.ai sells accuracy harder than anything else. Its homepage claims a third-party verified ranking for anti-hallucination, ahead of OpenAI and Google.
One 2026 guide went looking for the study behind that ranking and found no named one on the page it checked. I treat it as a vendor claim and test it myself.
Answer quality also depends on what you feed it. A bot trained on 3 PDFs that contradict each other will contradict itself. Clean your documents first.

Custom GPT AI Free: Is there a Free Plan?
Capterra lists a free trial and no free version, and the pricing page matches that.
The trial runs 7 days with full access to the plan you pick. You enter a card to start, and it charges you automatically when day 7 ends. Put a reminder in your calendar for day 6.
If you want a bot at zero cost, look at tools with permanent free tiers. You can also check what OpenAI currently allows for custom GPTs inside ChatGPT, since those plan rules change often.
CustomGPT.ai Pricing in 2026
- Standard: $99 a month, or $89 a month billed yearly.
- Premium: $499 a month, or $449 a month billed yearly. Premium removes the “Powered by CustomGPT” branding.
- Enterprise: custom pricing, for SSO, custom capacity, and contracts.

Sources disagree on Standard’s limits. Older pages list 1,000 queries a month and 10 agents. A July 2026 comparison reports 500 query credits, 2 agents, and 1 team member.
Check the live pricing page before you pick a plan. Premium shows up in older listings at 5,000 queries and 25 agents.
Extra queries cost extra. One review points out that once add-ons push a Standard bill past Premium’s price, Premium is the better deal.
CustomGPT.ai Revenue: What the company earns and what a bot can earn you
I couldn’t find a verified revenue figure for CustomGPT.ai. It’s a private company, and directory listings disagree on both its size and its funding. I wouldn’t trust any revenue number you see floating around.
The other meaning of “revenue” is what you can earn with it. CustomGPT’s own case study says an Irish tax firm built an AI tax assistant on the platform and reached €1M in annual recurring revenue, with 200% year-over-year growth. That’s the vendor’s story about one customer. Treat it as a best case.
The realistic route for most people is selling a chatbot setup to a small business. A $99 plan plus your setup fee leaves room for a margin, but I haven’t seen verified numbers on what agencies actually clear. Reselling under your own name also needs Premium, since that’s the plan that removes the branding.
Custom GPT Reviews: What users say
Capterra shows 3.3 out of 5 from 3 reviews. GetApp shows 3.7 out of 5 for features. Those are tiny samples, so I wouldn’t read much into either number.
The complaints I found:
- The monthly and annual plans cost more than other chatbot builders.
- One reviewer described a frustrating support experience. They needed account access after an employee left, and support wanted the former account holder involved.
The one clear positive is that email support usually replies.
CustomGPT.ai vs ChatGPT Custom GPTs: a Custom GPTs Review for Business use
The names look alike, and the products come from different companies. OpenAI’s custom GPTs run inside ChatGPT, so people reach them through ChatGPT. CustomGPT.ai is a separate platform built to put a bot on your own site or into a support workflow, with citations and an API.
If you want a private helper for yourself, a ChatGPT custom GPT may be enough. If customers will talk to the bot, CustomGPT.ai’s embed options matter more.

Who should use CustomGPT.ai

- Agencies building bots for clients. If you already run client work in a CRM, our GoHighLevel review shows how its own AI add-on prices out.
- Publishers and course sellers with a big content library
- Businesses where a wrong answer costs money, such as tax, legal, or compliance
Who should skip it
- Anyone who wants a permanent free plan
- Anyone who only needs a basic FAQ bot for a small site

- Teams that expect fast, hands-on support
How I’d test it in 7 days
- Start the trial and set a calendar reminder for day 6.
- Upload 10 to 20 of your real documents, or point it at your sitemap.
- Ask 20 questions you already know the answers to.
- Open the citation on every answer and check it matches the source.
- Cancel before day 7 ends, or keep the plan if the answers hold up.
